One of my favorite things is when a partner reaches out and inquires about purchasing a photo session as a gift. I had taken Grant’s newborn photos and then his dad asked if he could purchase a “mommy and me” session for his wife as a Mother’s Day gift. Great idea! I sent over a gift certificate for her to open on the day and then we found a date that would work for the shoot.

During pregnancy, most people dedicate most of their energy towards preparing for childbirth. And that’s totally understandable, most likely you haven’t done it before. You’ve got your birth plan in place. But what most people graze over is postpartum planning. Adding a new human to your family is the biggest dynamic shift you’ll experience. Whether you’re in a partnership, marriage or a single parent, your world is about to take on a very different look.

If you’re expecting a baby in the winter months, most likely your maternity session will have classic PNW weather - grey skies, cool temps and probably rain. But you know what? Those can still be beautiful photos.

Miss Mia joined the sweetest family. Not only did I get to support her parents during their labor and birth, I got to capture her newborn photos shortly after. Her big brother, Mateo, was so excited for a visitor, but less so for photos. A very typical toddler!
